Since we are still living in our small flat by the sea we are still without a garden. However, that has not stopped us growing a thing or two.
In previous years we tried growing things in buckets and had some moderate success. This year we have commandeered some large terracotta pots that have stood idle and unused the last two years.
Originally the intention was to put fruit trees in there, but the chap that installed them and filled them with good quality soil never returned.
So one of them is now full of spinach and salad - enough for a two good bowlfuls a week at the moment; the other has a little more spinach and a very productive courgette plant.
Distributed amongst many smaller pots are our flowers and herbs. Our latest experiment is tomato plants, although the jury is still out there.
